Hi All! Today I used the same Paper Smooches set I used on THIS CARD. I just love these cute little cups and cookies. I used Copics to color them. Hi All! I find myself embossing with black all the time. I think because it gives such a great crisp and bright, dark image. Of course, I just love embossing in general. Hi All! I used one of my favorite stamps right now – the Penny Black Paisley Outline background. I like it because it’s a small print and not very detracting from your focal point. I stamped the butterfly right on it – it’s not a separate layer. I really like how this card turned out. One other thing I did a little differently is the card base. Hi All! I was inspired by a card on the Penny Black blog HERE. Aren’t those leaves so pretty? I used the same technique for these butterflies, then sprayed it with some pearl mist for shimmer. I like how this butterfly has a bunch of lines, which shows the ink under the white embossing. Hi All! My vision for this card was actually totally different than how it turned out. Sometimes that happens… what I thought would work just doesn’t work. The butterflies are all popped up from the card with a mini glue dot, so it’s really pretty in person – especially with the glittery Stickles I used. Hi All! I’m back to my comfortable style – simple and more empty space! I used Copic markers to color in the butterfly – the blending with these markers is really amazing. I also pulled some color out using a colorless blender marker, which is great for highlighting the parts that would be in the direct line of the light source. You can see how I did it in the video.
