Wednesday’s Card: Sending Warm Fuzzies

Sending Warm Fuzzies

Hi All! Today I used the same Paper Smooches set I used on THIS CARD. I just love these cute little cups and cookies. I used Copics to color them. The background stamp is a new one to me – it’s Curled Pattern by Basic Grey and Hero Arts. Um, well, I used it upside down by accident. Did you notice? I thought you might not, so I just left it, lol! You could replace the sentiment with “Happy Valentine’s {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Split Circle Pattern

Split Circle Pattern

Hi All! I find myself embossing with black all the time. I think because it gives such a great crisp and bright, dark image. Of course, I just love embossing in general. Anyhoo… I stamped the Penny Black Circle Pattern and cut it in half to make this card. Nothing too complicated here. I’ve been busy this week because, believe it or not, I will be making TWO posts this weekend, BOTH with a video. My turn is up again {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Paisley Butterfly

Paisley Butterfly

Hi All! I used one of my favorite stamps right now – the Penny Black Paisley Outline background. I like it because it’s a small print and not very detracting from your focal point. I stamped the butterfly right on it – it’s not a separate layer. I really like how this card turned out. One other thing I did a little differently is the card base. The white folded card base is cut 1/4″ shorter than a normal card. {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Tri-Color Butterflies

Tri-Color Butterflies

Hi All! I was inspired by a card on the Penny Black blog HERE. Aren’t those leaves so pretty? I used the same technique for these butterflies, then sprayed it with some pearl mist for shimmer. I like how this butterfly has a bunch of lines, which shows the ink under the white embossing. In the video, I address a concern so many people email me about – Stampin’ Up! stamps falling off the block!! It happens to me in {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Popping Butterflies

Popping Butterflies

Hi All! My vision for this card was actually totally different than how it turned out. Sometimes that happens… what I thought would work just doesn’t work. The butterflies are all popped up from the card with a mini glue dot, so it’s really pretty in person – especially with the glittery Stickles I used. The butterfly stamp is from Stampin’ Up!’s summer mini catalog (which is unfortunately no longer available). But, you could really use just about any butterfly {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Butterfly on a Tree

Butterfly on a Tree

Hi All! I’m back to my comfortable style – simple and more empty space! I used Copic markers to color in the butterfly – the blending with these markers is really amazing. I also pulled some color out using a colorless blender marker, which is great for highlighting the parts that would be in the direct line of the light source. You can see how I did it in the video. I also did some heat embossing with clear powder {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: You Are Sunshine

You Are Sunshine Card

I have a friend who is ALWAYS full of positivity. I mean, she’s always smiling, laughing, and thinking that everyone and everything in the world is just wonderful. About a year ago, her husband passed away suddenly. She is my age and she has 2 girls… one is in 3rd grade with my daughter. Although I know she has been struggling so much on the inside, she still always tries to put on a smiling face. I had lunch with {Read More}
