Wednesday’s Card: Colored Pencil Flowers

Colored Pencils Flower

Hi All! I don’t think I have ever used colored pencils in a video before! They are actually quite easy to use. I used PrismaColor pencils, which are very nice, rich pencils. I haven’t tried using ordinary colored pencils from Crayola – I don’t know how they would compare. But really, if you are looking for a more economical alternative to Copic Markers, these wouldn’t be a bad choice. I started using Neenah cardstock on my first try at this. {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Watercolor and Shimmer

Watercolor and Shimmer

Hi All! For those of you who haven’t seen my new site, welcome! As you know, I am inspired by butterflies – I use them a lot on my cards. If I see one outside, I must stop and just admire it, no matter how busy I am. They are just so peaceful and beautiful. This week I used an Aqua Painter to watercolor my background. It’s a really cool pen that is filled with water. When you squeeze it {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: 100th Video!!!

Copics on Patterned Paper

Hi All! Welcome to my 100th card video! This week I thought I would try something new and different. I used Copic markers on top of patterned paper. The paper I used was Stampin’ Up! specialty paper, so it also has glitter on it. You could use pretty much any paper you have on hand – three patterns. But, make sure they are not too dark in color. I mention this in the video… I know this rose seems really {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Monochromatic Embossed Butterflies

Monochromatic Butterflies

Hi All! Do you like the polka dots? I wish I had time to do more – I’m kind of getting bored with the current design. The dots were an easy change, so I figured, why not? For the card this week, I wanted to try out using two different embossing powders on an image. I used both Wild Wasabi and White embossing powders on the butterflies. Kind of a neat look. I totally love the En Francais background stamp {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Lots o’ Copic Coloring

Copic Flowers

Good morning! The stamp I used this week is actually a solid silhouette stamp – you know, the kind that is a shadow and stamps all one color. I saw this technique awhile back I think by Jennifer McGuire on Hero Arts, but I searched and couldn’t find it! I stamped the image in a very light color (Antique Linen), then used Copics over it. You can use this technique on pretty much any silhouette stamp – think of the {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Masking!

Masking with Butterflies

Happy Wednesday! This week I have 3 cards to show!!! The one above was my starting point. I happened to come across THIS CARD on SplitCoastStampers. I just loved how simple it was! She said she got the idea from the Craft Stamper ezine… it’s a free pdf and the card is right on the cover. I downloaded this ezine, but I haven’t had time to look at it yet. Anyhoo… This card is sprayed with Perfect Pearls mixed with {Read More}
