Wednesday’s Card: Butterfly Thank You

Butterfly Thank You

Hi All, Today I used my favorite white ink: ColorBox. This ink lays on very white and very thick. I recently used it on a very detailed stamp and the image was crisp and perfect. On this card, I applied the ink directly from the pad to the paper. I colored the butterfly with Inktense Pencils… I used a wet brush and pulled color directly from the pencil itself. You get a really vibrant color using this technique. And, it {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Holiday Thank-You

Reindeer Thank You

Hi All, Bringing you some more holiday cheer today! I made this card to give to the host of a Christmas party I am going to. Hosting a party is a lot of work!! I think these people deserve some recognition. I used Copics to color and I used masking with a post-it to create the snow. I just love this little guy’s sweater!! On a different topic… I’ve been sending you guys to Ellen Hutson to purchase Neenah paper {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Butterflies with Fireworks

Fireworks Butterflies

Hi All! The orange-y background for this card was created using Fireworks by Tsukineko (the same company who makes Memento and Versafine inks, among others). It’s an ink spray that has a beautiful shimmer to it. I totally love them. My sister got a 3-pack of them from her friend for $1 at a garage sale! Um, totally worth it. After making this card, I went out and purchased another set of blue/purple. I broke out my Papillon Potpourri set {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Split Background Card

Broken Background Card

Hi All! One of my blog readers, Karen, sent me a photo of a card she created with this technique. I thought it was just so cool! Thank you Karen for sharing your card with me. This card is not bulky at all, and it’s pretty easy to make. The stamped part is just one piece of paper that I cut into three parts. The black cardstock is cut into the following measurements: – 4.25″ x 5.5″ – 3″ x {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Clean & Simple Chevron

Chevron CAS

Hi All! I hardly ever participate in online card challenges. I’m not sure why – maybe because I feel like I am not being original enough? Anyway, I decided to branch out and do the Hero Arts sketch challenge this week. Here is the sketch: I chose the last sketch because I just got that Chevron stamp (shout-out to Laura – thank you!) and wanted to put it to good use: I used masking to create the Chevron stripe. I {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Stargazer Lilies

Stargazer Lilies

Hi All! I am still in mourning over my favorite SU stamp sets going into retirement. Read on for more information about the retiring accessories below! I pulled out my Fifth Avenue Floral set and was going through splitcoaststampers for some inspiration. There were a few people who took the lily and made a stargazer out of it! I thought, wow, how cool is that?? And since it’s my favorite flower, I was really wondering why the heck it never {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Stampin’ Up! Marker Resist

Marker Resist

Hi All! I saw a Christmas card in Paper Crafts magazine a few months ago that used twine to outline a panel and I loved how it completed the edge. I actually inked this card with markers – and it was so fast because I used the brush tip. So, it is super fast in the video! I also used my Beautiful Wings Embosslit, which I haven’t used in awhile. I love all those little embossed butterflies – so elegant. {Read More}
