Wednesday’s Card: Copic Cupcake

Copic Cupcake

Hi All! I found this cute little cupcake set by Avery Elle while shopping at Ellen Hutson. I seriously will just go through every item in the entire store. It’s fun! And maybe borderline obsessive. Anyway, I was really impressed with the quality of the stamp set. Notice the chocolate cake part of the cupcake? It’s solid black using Memento Ink. When I’ve used this ink on rubber stamps by both SU and Hero Arts, I don’t get this good {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: White Watercolor Flowers

White Watercolor Flowers

Hi All! I decided to use the Secret Garden set again today. I really do love all the flowers in this set! Someone recently asked me how I come up with my card designs. The first thing I do is decide which stamp set to use, then I decide on the technique or style. To decide the technique or style, many times I will search the stamp set on Google images. That’s what I did before creating this card. I {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Watercolor Birthday Buddy

Birthday Beaver

Hi All, Isn’t this little guy so cute? It’s a beaver, right? Sometimes I get confused, kind of like singing the wrong words to a song. It’s another stamp from the Birthday Buddies set – the fish on this card is from the same set. I used my Inktense Pencils to watercolor him. I think I’ve decided that I prefer my Aqua Painter to a paintbrush, at least when it comes to detailed images. I was making a lot of {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Birthday Fishes

Birthday Fishes

Hi All! Isn’t this stamp so darn cute? It’s Birthday Buddies by Paper Smooches. When I create a card for the blog, I always show it to my kids first, then I do a video to create a second one. Well, I was showing this card to Courtney, my 8 year old, and she said, “Oh Mommy, it’s so cute! I love their party hats!”. I quickly flipped it around so I could see it. Party hats? I colored that {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Butterfly Thank You

Butterfly Thank You

Hi All, Today I used my favorite white ink: ColorBox. This ink lays on very white and very thick. I recently used it on a very detailed stamp and the image was crisp and perfect. On this card, I applied the ink directly from the pad to the paper. I colored the butterfly with Inktense Pencils… I used a wet brush and pulled color directly from the pencil itself. You get a really vibrant color using this technique. And, it {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Beautiful Wings

Beautiful Wings Card

Hi All! I have a pretty quick card this week. I try to alternate my posts between simple and complicated. Sometimes it’s nice to just crank one out, right? I used a new distress ink called Picked Raspberry. It’s so pretty – kinda reminds me of Stampin’ Up!’s Melon Mambo. I spritzed the Full Bloom Hollyhocks stamp with water and stamped it onto the inked cardstock to get that reverse watercolor look. I’m sure there is a name for this {Read More}

Wednesday’s Post: Flower in a Vase

Colored Pencil Flower

Hi All! Today I decided to use the same flower stamp set I used on this card. As with the other card, I colored this one with my Derwent Inktense Pencils also. I really like how these pencils blend. I used the Hero Arts Soft Granite Shadow Ink as a background again. It’s such a pretty shade. I created the white border on my panel by using my Spellbinders die as a stencil. Be sure to emboss the panel after {Read More}
