Day Two of Guest Design Weekend at Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft!

Gelato Background

Welcome back to my Guest Design weekend! I’m here today with the second round of using Gelatos in a card background. The card for today starts the same as yesterday… heat embossing white on white and covering with gelatos. However, instead of spraying with water, I wipe with a baby wipe. You can tell that the color is much more subtle, which complements the vibrant flowers. Yesterday I created the reverse – a vibrant background and a subtle focal element. {Read More}

Guest Design Day at Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft!

Mixed Media Big Flower

Happy Monday!! Hope you had a great weekend. Today is my first day being the Guest Designer over on the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft blog! I’m so excited about the products I used to create my projects – they were so much fun. When I first saw the Mixed Media Sampler Pack, I thought, what are you going to do with all the same colors in one pack? I challenged myself to do just that. I ended up totally loving {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Split Background Card

Broken Background Card

Hi All! One of my blog readers, Karen, sent me a photo of a card she created with this technique. I thought it was just so cool! Thank you Karen for sharing your card with me. This card is not bulky at all, and it’s pretty easy to make. The stamped part is just one piece of paper that I cut into three parts. The black cardstock is cut into the following measurements: – 4.25″ x 5.5″ – 3″ x {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Pleasant Poppies with Copics

Pleasant Poppies

Hi All! This week I got back to using some of my new Stampin’ Up! products – I just love this new background stamp. I used it as a focal point for this card, but I can also easily see using it as a tone-on-tone background. And don’t you love the purple background stamp? It’s called Netting, and Stampin’ Up! has had it for awhile. But I didn’t notice it in the catalog right away. It’s so subtle – it {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Silhouette Posies

Posies

Hi All! After I was done with this card, I realized that I made one pretty similar to it a couple of months ago. So, I almost feel like I cheated you out a little bit. That’s weird, but true. I went with it anyway because it’s still a different technique and some interesting details. Let me offer this… on my list of things to do is a Copic tutorial – hopefully I will get around to that very soon. {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Mixed Media Flowers

Mixed Media Flowers

Hi All! I’m calling these mixed media flowers because I colored them with ink, Copics, SU markers, and colored pencils! The card is made up of two Spellbinders die cuts adhered together at the top. I really like the way the orange and red distress inks came out so bright!! And I totally love this Penny Black background stamp with the paisleys – click this link to go to Two Peas in a Bucket, where it is on sale for {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Coloring Flowers with Copics

Copic Poppies

Hi Everyone! I have been on a craft-buying binge. And I can’t stop. Someone help! Sound familiar? Seriously, I decided to branch out with some new product brands, so I purchased a few sets from There She Goes Stamps. Next, I went to Colorado Springs and found Archivers. Oh. My. Heaven. Literally. Then, we had the Great American Scrapbook Convention hit Dallas last weekend. I can’t pass up these opportunities, right? I know you agree! So I have one more {Read More}
