Wednesday’s Card: Fabulous Florets

Fabulous Florets

Hi All! Today I used several different Stampin’ Up! sets, but mainly Fabulous Florets and Pleasant Poppies. The last time I used Pleasant Poppies was on this card as a focal point. It also makes a great background (in fact I think Stampin’ Up! calls it a background stamp). I’ve used Fabulous Florets on this card, this card, and this card. I explain in the video why I love this stamp set. I used one Inktense Pencil and some water {Read More}

Fun Friday Collabo, Week 1!

May 3 Fun Friday

Happy Friday All!! I’m so happy and honored to be teaming up with Jill Foster during the month of May! Each Friday we will be collaborating on a specific Penny Black stamp set. This week is Tiger Lily! Lilies are my absolute favorite flower, so I was really excited to be working with this stamp. Now, I know it’s supposed to be a Tiger Lily, but why not a Stargazer? Here’s my card for this week: Rather than using the {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Flower Shadow

Black Shadow Flower

Hi All! When I go to my craft room to create a card, I usually have a pretty solid idea. However, the resulting card hardly EVER looks like what I had originally envisioned. All that extra time spent in the shower planning my cards for nothing, lol! I think it’s just my excuse to take a long shower. Anyhoo, I thought it would be fun to show you how this card came about. It started when I saw Heather do {Read More}

Wednesday’s Post: Flower in a Vase

Colored Pencil Flower

Hi All! Today I decided to use the same flower stamp set I used on this card. As with the other card, I colored this one with my Derwent Inktense Pencils also. I really like how these pencils blend. I used the Hero Arts Soft Granite Shadow Ink as a background again. It’s such a pretty shade. I created the white border on my panel by using my Spellbinders die as a stencil. Be sure to emboss the panel after {Read More}

How to Make Paper Flowers!

Paper Flowers

Hi All, I’m doing a little diversion today. Instead of a card, I decided to do a little tutorial on how to make paper flowers. I got this kit from Stampin’ Up! and was able to make some cool flowers, so I thought I would share. I actually learned this technique about a year ago – the flowers come out very stiff and permanent by using water. Ever since then, I’ve had dreams of doing an entire garland of flowers {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Everything Flowers and a GIVEAWAY!

Everything Flowers Card

Hi All! Valentine’s Day just sort of crept up didn’t it?! I just purchased this Hero Arts Everything Flowers background stamp, so I thought I would use that for a Valentine’s Day card. To my surprise, I sold pretty much all my heart-related stamps in my big sale over the summer, so I’m having to be creative with non-heart stamps! I also just ordered the Hero Arts Soft Granite Shadow Ink, which I used for the background on this card. {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Secret Garden with Inktense Pencils

Inktense Flower

Hi All! I love this new flower stamp set from Stampin’ Up! – there are so many possibilities. I see it as my official replacement for Fifth Avenue Floral, an old retired set that I loved. Bonus… it has matching dies! I’ve been hearing a lot of really good things about the Derwent Inktense Pencils. So, I asked my husband to buy me the 36-count set for Christmas. Well, he bought me the 72-count!! Isn’t he awesome? The price point {Read More}
