Wednesday’s Card: Beautiful Wings

Beautiful Wings Card

Hi All! I have a pretty quick card this week. I try to alternate my posts between simple and complicated. Sometimes it’s nice to just crank one out, right? I used a new distress ink called Picked Raspberry. It’s so pretty – kinda reminds me of Stampin’ Up!’s Melon Mambo. I spritzed the Full Bloom Hollyhocks stamp with water and stamped it onto the inked cardstock to get that reverse watercolor look. I’m sure there is a name for this {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Vellum Butterfly

Vellum Butterfly

Hi All! I really don’t like to use my Copics on top of heat embossed images. The embossing powder gets on the tips of my markers. I did it in a video once, not realizing what I was doing. Since then, I’ve seen lots of people do it, but it just makes me uncomfortable. So, for this card, I heat embossed on vellum and then colored the back using Copics. I just love heat embossing on vellum – it comes {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card – Cheery Holiday

Candy Cane Card

Happy Halloween! What better way to celebrate Halloween than with a Christmas card, lol! I actually thought about making a Halloween card for today, but then I figured that it’s probably too late at this point. So, Merry Halloween! I thought I would use the new holiday set I purchased for my Christmas cards in another way. I really like this set! Although I love the fun of Halloween and the kids trick-or-treating, I’m looking forward to putting tonight’s candy-eating {Read More}

Wednesdays Card: Critter Pop-Up

Critter Pop-Up

Hi All! Sizzix just came out with some new pop-up dies. When you look at them, they are pretty simple to replicate without the die. Granted, the die will also cut the image that will be popping up for you (in my case the critters), but why not just have a simple box that you can adhere anything to? I’ve created a few other pop-ups before if you want to check them out: Two Owl Versions (Simple & Advanced) and {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Postal Butterfly with Distress Inks

Butterfly Card

Hi All! I had to use this butterfly set again. I just love, love butterflies on cards. Are you getting sick of it? I used a new embossing folder I bought by Tim Holtz. When you add ink on top, the raised portion really takes on a darker color. The black outline is actually free-hand coloring! When you dry emboss the outside edge of the Spellbinders, it makes it easy (well, easier) to color in the edges. I didn’t feel {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Bright Bouquet

Bright Bouquet

Hi All, This card started as all white cardstock! I used my Stampin’ Up! inks again to create that distressed ink look. If you missed my tutorial on how to do this, find it HERE. I know I keep saying this, but I love the Stampin’ Up! colors! You can’t really tell from the picture, but the orange piece has been sprayed with Perfect Pearls mist, so it has a shimmery look – it’s very pretty in real life. I {Read More}
