Wednesday’s Card: Up Up & Away Birthday

Up Up and Away

Hi All! Let me start by saying… I’m sorry. Here I am writing up my post about this card video, talking about how happy I am that this Up Up & Away stamp set has been carried over into next year. So, then I start working on my supplies list. Where is the stamp set? My link wasn’t working anymore. Why? Because it’s retired!!! Ugh. How frustrating. I really try hard to use stamp sets that are not retired. All {Read More}

Fun Friday Collabo, Week 1!

May 3 Fun Friday

Happy Friday All!! I’m so happy and honored to be teaming up with Jill Foster during the month of May! Each Friday we will be collaborating on a specific Penny Black stamp set. This week is Tiger Lily! Lilies are my absolute favorite flower, so I was really excited to be working with this stamp. Now, I know it’s supposed to be a Tiger Lily, but why not a Stargazer? Here’s my card for this week: Rather than using the {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Chalkboard Butterfly

Chalkboard Butterfly

Hi All, I’m calling this a chalkboard because it kind of looks like one to me, but maybe not? I don’t know. The technique is pretty easy, and the good news is that you can be really sloppy with your distress ink and not worry about blocks and lines, lol!! I decided to leave off the sentiment for now. Maybe I’ll add one later. If I do, I’ll probably put it in the lower right corner. Or maybe I’ll just {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Easy Watercolor Technique!

Watercolor Technique

Hi All, I’ve been trying to come up with a good way to use water with my Inktense Pencils for some time. If you are not familiar with these pencils, they have incredibly vibrant color, sharpen with ease, and also function as a watercolor pencil. I’ve really just used them direct to paper so far because the colors are so vibrant and beautiful. Every time I used them as a watercolor, the color would fade and I found it hard {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Flower Shadow

Black Shadow Flower

Hi All! When I go to my craft room to create a card, I usually have a pretty solid idea. However, the resulting card hardly EVER looks like what I had originally envisioned. All that extra time spent in the shower planning my cards for nothing, lol! I think it’s just my excuse to take a long shower. Anyhoo, I thought it would be fun to show you how this card came about. It started when I saw Heather do {Read More}

Wednesday’s Card: Beautiful Wings

Beautiful Wings Card

Hi All! I have a pretty quick card this week. I try to alternate my posts between simple and complicated. Sometimes it’s nice to just crank one out, right? I used a new distress ink called Picked Raspberry. It’s so pretty – kinda reminds me of Stampin’ Up!’s Melon Mambo. I spritzed the Full Bloom Hollyhocks stamp with water and stamped it onto the inked cardstock to get that reverse watercolor look. I’m sure there is a name for this {Read More}
