I stayed up past midnight last week creating a card for today. The next morning I was so mad because it just wasn’t good enough. I hate when I waste sleep time!! The following night I created this card. Kind of simple, but it worked for me. With my clean style, sometimes the Tim Holtz stamps are a little uncomfortable for me to use. I tried to keep it very basic. His stamps have that distressed, bed-head kind of look, so I hate to add much to it. I’ve never been able to achieve that bed-head look, cardwise or otherwise.
So someone TP’ed our house last week. I mean, we’re talking a professional job… toilet paper on the very tips of the highest trees. Do you know what my husband said? “I think it was your card-making groupies.” First of all, I’m embarrassed to even say that my husband called the people who read my blog “groupies”, but if you know him, it’s not a stretch. And secondly, hello??? maybe men blog-groupies have TP on the brain, but I can confidently say that anyone who reads my blog is not thinking about toilet paper. And third, since all women have absolutely NO free time, we can’t imagine burdening another woman with cleaning mushy TP up from the yard after a serious rain.

Another great card, Darlene. I love how you stamped and punched out the letters yourself. When I first saw the card, I thought they were stickers or chipboard. You’re so creative!
I cannot believe somebody TP’ed your house. WOW! I thought that stuff only happened in movies. What a pain! I sure hope that doesn’t happen again.
Hi Lynn – I’m using a paper piercer – a tool with a sharp tip that is used to punch holes in paper. I find it very handy for picking up small things! I use it all the time when building my punch owls!

My questions is more generic – What type of tape runner do you use? I currently use an ATG gun and I love the holding power. However it is a bit cumbersome in size at times. I love SU but I am not of fan of Snail. My creations always come undone.

Hi Lisa! I use Duck Tape (http://www.duckbrand.com/Products/craft-mounting-products.aspx). The problem is that they recently changed their tape runners so that it has the choppy strips instead of coming out in one long adhesive length. Before they changed it, I literally bought about 40 runners. I’m still working through them!! I really don’t like the new ones at all, so I wouldn’t recommend it. The Stampin’ Up! snail adhesive is just like the Duck Tape I am using (no choppy strips), and I like it. Both of them seem to stick really well for me. Maybe I use more than you do on my projects? I will more than likely start using the SU snails after I am done with my 40 runners!! It’s a little more expensive, so that’s why I have been using the Duck Tape. I do have the ATG gun, and I use it for scrapbooking – it’s VERY permanent!! But I agree – very bulky for card-making. Hope that helps a little bit.
