Wednesday’s Card: Glitter Embossing Powders and GIVEAWAY!!

Glitter Heat Embossing

Hi All!

Today I am using some glitter embossing powders from WOW!. I love being able to use glitter without the glittery mess. These powders have glitter mixed into them, so when you heat emboss, the glitter gets stuck in there and it does not rub off at all. Here’s a close-up:

Glittery Butterflies

It’s really hard to take good photos of glitter. I think the light reflects off the glitter and it messes up the shutter speed. You’ll have to just take my word that these cards look really beautiful in person.

The die I used is called Butterfly Drift by Simon Says Stamp. It’s similar to the Heart Parade die I used on THIS CARD and THIS CARD. So, those are some other ideas you can use this die for.

I ended up creating multiple versions of this card. The one in the photo above is the one I created in the video (scroll down to see the video). I also created a couple more:

Glitter Heat Embossing

I think this pink one is my favorite. I used the Raspberry Coulis powder for three of the butterflies and left the rest empty. Here is a close-up:

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp’s More Sketchy Banner Greetings set. For the next one, I decided to go neutral:

Glitter Heat Embossing

I used the White Twinkle powder, which has silver glitter flakes in it. So pretty! The sentiment is from the same Altenew Sentiments and Quotes I used on the first one (I love these sentiments!). Here’s the close-up:

When I was putting my post together, I decided the cards needs some additional interest, so after the video I added Stampin’ Up! crystal rhinestones (the black ones I colored with a 110 Copic Marker). I tried to add some sequins, but I just don’t think they look as nice as rhinestones.

So now for the GIVEAWAY!! WOW! Embossing Powders has generously offered to giveaway a set of glitter powders:

WOW! Giveaway

This set includes all the ones I used on the cards today, PLUS the Black Twinkle I used on Monday’s card, PLUS a blue color called Calypso just for fun. 🙂

To enter, just leave a comment (one only please) here on this post by Monday (Sept 8th) at 11:59pm CT. I will randomly choose the winner. Good luck and enjoy the video!
