Wednesday’s Card: Owl Sending love

Owl Sending Love
Owl Sending Love

Ok, so I waited 3 weeks to post another owl punch card. It was painful to wait so long, but I didn’t want to bore you!

I used the Owl Together Now branch again. It’s retired now, but you could use pretty much any branch stamp – or cut one out of your Cricut. The Two-Step Bird Punch from Stampin’ Up! also includes a branch.

I used the porcupine from the Fun & Fast Notes set to create the owl bellies. I love how the eyeballs are movable, so I have the owls looking at each other. All the hearts are punched from the same Owl Punch. Enjoy!!

  7. Hi Darlene,

I just love your cards! You are really a great inspiration to me! I want so so much your owl punch but I’m afraid I cannot get it in Italy ;-(. Do you know if there is any way to have it shipped here?
Thank you for your hard work!
Ps if you go two my blog you will see several cards inspired in your work. Of course not as good as yours! I’m just a beginner!

    • Darlene DeVries says:

Hi Mati! Unfortunately, the only way to have products shipped to Italy is to have an APO address (a US military address). Other than that, you could ship them to someone in the US, who could then ship them to you. Sorry it’s so difficult!

  8. I totally love this card. And thanks for the video. It’s always great to see a card as it’s put together and not just a finished picture. I’m curious about the heart stamp you used. Where did you get it? I could use it on so many different projects!

  9. Thank you for sharing this totally awesome card! SO CUTE !!!

  10. I love your tutorials, especially the 2-step Owl ones! Thanks for putting up the card dimensions.

  11. Hi Darlene,
You could never, ever bore me with your owl cards! They are the best I’ve ever seen. Thanks so much for the beautiful cards you make. I may even have the courage now to make my own owls-have owned that set for a couple of years. Thanks again.

  15. wow beautiful card! what is the tool that cut the outter corner of the card to curve? and the tool that you put on the card all the time to make everything straight? what are they both called? keep up the beautiful work !

  16. Darlene Z says:

Thank you so much. I love your blog and your cards shown here. You have released my creative block and I can’t wait to make more cards.

  17. I love this! I have never seen the thing-a-majig used or (was that the) paper piecer? Can you tell me if the piecer makes a noticeable hole in the paper?

Really love this card and LOVE my new owl punch too!

    • Darlene DeVries says:

Hi Susan! I used the paper piercer on this card to pick up the little pieces. If you get it a little sticky at the top, it will pull the pieces off your work surface. Normally, this piercer is used to make holes in the paper to apply brads, doing faux stitching, sewing, etc. So yes, when you use it to make holes, it definitely makes a hole right through the paper. Thanks for the comment!

  18. How cute!!! I loved your video although I feel like I was racing just watching it!!!

  19. WOW!! What an AWESOME video!! I learned A LOT from watchng you!! That was SO COOL!! THANK YOU! The only thing that I didn’t see (and I watched it twice, so I’m hoping I didn’t miss it both times) was the size of the card and where you scored it so it ended up looking the way it does. Otherwise, I am AWED. 🙂

    • Darlene DeVries says:

Judy – thank you for the nice comments – it’s very much appreciated! The size of the card is 4.25×5.5. So, if you cut a piece of 8.5×11 cardstock in half long-ways and then score it down the middle at 5.5 inches, that’s the card. Then, I trimmed the front part 1.25 inches from the right side and used the scallop border punch. Hope this helps!

  20. You must forgive me for ignoring a second video, jublii video finally works 🙂
    Thank

  25. Gittelaban says:

This video contains material that has blocked it. I can not see “Another Two Step Owl Punch Card”, what happened?
sweet card with owl and a lot heart.

    • Darlene DeVries says:

Gittelaban: Occasionally YouTube will mute my video because of the copyright laws in different countries. It’s kind of a messy thing – I try to pick songs that will be accessible by everyone, but the truth is that I won’t know for sure until the video is done, compressed and posted. Can you not see it at all or you just can’t hear it?
