Wednesday’s Card: Distress Watercolor

Distress Watercolor

Hi All,

This card was pretty quick and easy. If you’d like to experiment with watercolor, I highly recommend getting some watercolor paper. It makes a HUGE difference in your results. With this card, you’ll see how I was able to keep changing the background until I got the exact look I wanted. With regular paper, it’s much harder to change once the ink is on your paper.

I totally love this new sentiment set I got called Stripe Greetings. It has a lot of different sentiments I don’t have:

Stripe Greetings

I also used this new set called Made By. It has a lot of fun stamps for the back of your card:

Made By

Okay, I guess that’s it for now. Enjoy the video and see you next time. 🙂

  1. Love your card & that watercolor technique! I’ve done that kind of thing, and you’re right–watercolor paper makes all the difference in the world. Thanks also for the tip on using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to re-stamp your greeting. I think I’ve seen that before, but a reminder is always good!

  2. Mary-Anne V. says:

Very pretty …love you little tricks in the video.

  3. Very nice card! Love the colors you used and the die!

  4. What a very pretty card. I love the watercolor technique and that heart die looks so striking against it!

  5. Gloria Taylor says:

Wow, love the idea of you using clear or pearl rhinestones and color them the color you need or want. Doing this technique is fun plus saving money in purchasing all the colors of different rhinestones which I totally love using in making my cards. Love how you used the three different distress ink to make the background, thanks for another great idea for a card.

  6. Stephanie says:

Another AMAZiNG card, Darlene! I love how creative you get with your layouts! Thanks for sharing!!

Awesome card, your daughter will love it. Love the way you trimmed off the two end hearts, gives such a nice look.

  14. Your cards are always so wonderful!! I enjoy watching your videos every week. You do such a great job of both!! Thank you for sharing all your helpful tips.

  15. Maria Rodriguez says:

Oh Darlene, I think I will try this technique, so much fun and the colors blend perfectly with one another, really fabulous. Every time I see you use this Heart die I say to myself, “I need to get it” but I put it off 🙁 . Well, no more, I will go and buy it, specially because I just love the way you fitted the row of hearts like a puzzle with the top and bottom of your paper.
Thank you for another fantastic card and video.
Off I go to get me those pretty little hearts.
    Have a great week.
