I hope everyone is having a great week! I have been creating a lot this week – trying to make up for lost time. This card uses heat embossing with white powder on white paper. I used Distress inks to color over it, but the embossed areas resist the color. My first version of this card was on a black base. It seemed kind of dreary, so the next time I put it on a white card and it really popped.
As you know, the new Stampin’ Up! catalog has arrived. I have a VERY long wish list at the moment! I plan to place an order the first week the products are available (July 1st). On Thursday, July 22nd, I’m having an open house to celebrate the launch of the catalog… it will be very casual. Come and go as you please between 7 and 9pm. I’ll have all my new goodies on display. If you place an order of $50 or more, I’ll give you a catalog for free… 225 pages of great ideas and cool stuff! RSVP by 7/20 – everyone is welcome!
Enjoy the video – I’m going to make another post this weekend, so watch for it! More emboss resist, but it’s a super simple card.

Thanks for visiting my video blog! I post a new video every Wednesday and sometimes an extra when I have time.

That was such a cool video, Darlene! I loved watching you create that card. I think that one is my favorite Darlene creation thus far!
I just had to come to your blog after seeing this gorgeous doilie card on SCS today in the gallery. Oh this is gorgeous. Wow. You will definitely inspire others to buy it. I love your technique, thanks for sharing your video. Awesome job BTW.
Love this card, Darlene!
Your videos are always so much fun to watch!
Would you mind telling me what video editing program you use??
Hi Ayana! So glad you enjoy the videos. I use iMovie on a Mac for my video editing. It’s very easy to use.
Irum – thanks so much!! Hope you’re having a great summer!

Really love this card. The distress ink combination is beautiful. Thanks for the video!!!!!
Darlene- First, as always loved the card! You are so wonderful at what you create! Two- the SU new catalog- are the SU demonstrators handing the books out before the 1st to frequent buyers?? I have a SU card night on Fri and I am super anxious for the new book, and my demonstrator doesn’t have a website or blog, and thought I would ask another demonstrator. Thanks Darlene.
LOVED your fun video and upbeat music. And your card— incredible! Great distressing!
Thanks for the FABULOUS video! Congrats on being featured in Hero Arts Twitter!
How I enjoyed watching the video
really neat stuff
Such a pretty card, and you just “budda bing, budda boom-ed” that puppy together. I was getting slightly sea-sick there for a minute….LOL Just kidding! Wow, those colors, so delicious, and where they overlap is just gorgeous! Emboss resist with Distress Inks…hmmm, now that is something ELSE that I need to re-address! I always loved the result. I need to get out my good ole’ Idea Book, and make some “notes to self”! LOL Darlene, you have sparked so many fond techniques that I simply haven’t used lately. Oh, man, I hope I haven’t gotten lazy…or, worse yet…in a rut! Egads!
