    Hi Darlene,
I’ve been viewing your videos on cards since I found you and love all of your work and the little hints you give us along the way. For some reason I can’t get the “Little Fishes” video link to work no matter what I try? Are you having problems with it or what do you suggest?
    Thanks, Kathy

  5. Diana Whitney says:

What a fin, I mean fun, card! Hard not to feel good after watching this video. And so cute that your daughter found something special in the hats! Thanks so much for sharing this one.

  6. Loved your story where daughter sets mom straight. LOL. Cute card, Darlene.

  7. thanks for the video and the tutorial

  8. What an adorable card. Enjoyed the back story as well. I’m always so amazed at the neatness of your pen stitching (I make a mess even when following the emboss line.) Your hand is so steady when you draw your border line. TFS

  9. Margaret says:

Love the card – those fish are so cute. Looks like your daughter has your ‘clever crafting’ genes. I’ve also tried to do the copic coloring using the darkest color first and it didn’t work for me at all – but your fish still looks great.
Looking forward to see what you create on Friday.

  10. Great Card!

  11. I love the sparkly party hats! Fun card!

  12. Awwwwww! This is so adorable! And kudos to Courtney for coming up with the party hat idea!!! I really love how you did the ‘water’ and the hand drawn black border works soooo well with that sentiment font!

  13. What a great card! I love those little fishies. I’m with your daughter on this one…those are part hats…don’t think they are fins but I guess you could make it be a fin! LOL!

    Love this!

  14. Maureen says:

Darlene, I always look forward for Wednesday…open my emails and look for yours!!l I LOVE ALL THE CARDS AND IDEAS you share with us. Love this birthday card especially since I have young grandsons and their birthdays are coming up. I don’t have this particular stamp set, but do have some others that will work as well, thanks again and can’t wait until next Wednesday! Have an awesome rest of the week and weekend.

  17. Anna Jernigan says:

OMG, these fish are so stinkin’ cute, I can’t stand it!! LOL Oh, Darlene, how sweet is that story? First of all, I love that you share each card with your kids before making the video. How nice to include them in your hobby. Then, to have your daughter tell YOU about the party hats, was a hoot! “out of the mouth of babes”, right? Made me chuckle! It brings back some cute similar stories of my own children when they were kids. Thanks for that memory. LOL I love your coloring and your card layout ideas! What inspiration. Of course I love your videos, and BTW…sorry for my little “what no video?” with your last card posting….LOL I was joking, but sort of……….cuz, plain and simple, I LOVE your videos!!! LOL I must not be greedy, I always have Wednesday”s video to look forward to….LOL Seriously, thanks for sharing your lovely talent!!

Super cute card, those fishies look adorable. I love how you made that dotted line around the cut out circle, you have such a steady hand, the same for the lines, it’s always amazing to watch you do that.
    Great job, Darlene!!

  1. […] wrong words to a song. It’s another stamp from the Birthday Buddies set – the fish on this card is from the same set. I used my Inktense Pencils to watercolor him. I think I’ve decided that […]
