Hi All!
I have a pretty quick card this week. I try to alternate my posts between simple and complicated. Sometimes it’s nice to just crank one out, right?
I used a new distress ink called Picked Raspberry. It’s so pretty – kinda reminds me of Stampin’ Up!’s Melon Mambo. I spritzed the Full Bloom Hollyhocks stamp with water and stamped it onto the inked cardstock to get that reverse watercolor look. I’m sure there is a name for this technique but I don’t know it.
The butterflies are from my Beautiful Wings embosslit (I call it a Sizzlit in the video. Wrong.). I actually use this die a lot – it’s great for scrapbooking too. The butterflies are embossed and cut in one run through your Big Shot.
Enjoy and have a great week!
Darlene

Thanks for visiting my video blog! I post a new video every Wednesday and sometimes an extra when I have time.

This is such a simple card but it packs such an elegant punch. Love your videos. I always learn something new!
Love the half oval cutout….need to remember to do things like that more. And I love that ink color….too pretty!
thanks for another great video!
Another winner. The Picked Raspberry is a gorgeous color. It was very clever to create the arch with a Spellbinder. I will have to remember that, and stamping with water.
Such a beautiful card! Thanks for sharing!
Love this card, Darlene! Absolutely beautiful!
Gorgeous card Darlene!! Love that pink color and the way that you arranged those beautiful butterflies “flying” up. What a clever idea to sponge ink on the paper and then, stamp your image using only water, WOW!! I must try this, looks amazing.
Thank you for another fantastic video, as always, you are such a treat to watch.
Have you had any Ben and Jerry’s lately?????
Wow Wow Wow! This is so lovely. Such a master designer you are. Was having a very frustrating day and you made it all better!! Your Wednesday interludes are like therapy to me! With all the snow and cold we have had here in the midwest, you reminded me that spring is on its way…
Thanks so much.
Wow, that card really grabs you. So many new techniques. I learned a lot, Darlene.
Thank You for sharing. I look forward to seeing what will be posted on Wednesdays. I love your cards. You do an amazing job.
Gotta say, lovin’ this color combo…also lovin’ the IO background (I own it too). Perfect card.
Love the card! Thanks for taking the time to share your talents and inspiration.
Very pretty card, and I enjoyed your tutorial Darlene… I love that you speed up the parts that are repetitive after showing the basic technique. Thank you!
Beautiful card! I just love the way the butterflies look and the gradation background stamp is so great.
Can’t believe the great ideas you come up with! Love all the different elements of this card and I think I pretty much have most of the bits needed to make it. Again, a big thanks for sharing all your hard work with us.
For such a simple card it sure turned out awe inspiring. I love the raspberry distress ink too and that black and white together really pop.
Yea its wonderful Wednesday!!! loved you Card!!! BEAUTIFUL!
Maria, of course I have! But I’m definitely in control.
Very sweet card! Really love IO gradation stamp. Loved what you did with the Hollyhocks! Thanks for the video!
No matter how simple your card is, there is always a new technique for us. Thanks again Darlene. I love it!
Love your card. I always call the color “Pickled” too.
Yikes! You gotta love it when a card is so gorgeous…yet…simply made. Okay, there are a few steps, but do-able! LOL OMGosh, does it look stunning in the end!!! Of course, YOU had ME at butterflies (my favs), but after watching the video I really like the other elements along the way: never thought to make that wide oval on the side, nor have I explored stamping with water…although I have the tools for both of those techniques. Wow, inspiration…ya think? LOL I have been coming and going and watching your fab videos…thanks so much for sharing!!! (PS Your videos are so fun, love every one I watched so far!!)
