Valentine’s Day just sort of crept up didn’t it?! I just purchased this Hero Arts Everything Flowers background stamp, so I thought I would use that for a Valentine’s Day card. To my surprise, I sold pretty much all my heart-related stamps in my big sale over the summer, so I’m having to be creative with non-heart stamps!
I also just ordered the Hero Arts Soft Granite Shadow Ink, which I used for the background on this card. I love this ink. Originally I tried to use the Stampin’ Up! Basic Gray, but it was too dark. I even tried stamping-off with it (stamping on a sheet of scratch paper before stamping the image) but it was still too dark. This Soft Granite ink is just the perfect light gray background – not distracting at all. I’m using it on another card coming up in the next few weeks.
I used Copic Markers for the flowers and then added a little highlight with the Faber Castell Design Memory Craft White Big Brush Pen. I’ve used this pen before in the same way on THIS CARD.

I have the white pen I used in the video plus a set of Faber Castell Design Memory Craft Mix & Match Subtle Tones markers to give away! Leave a comment here on this blog post by Sunday, February 10th, 11:59pmCST to enter a chance to win. Good luck and have a great week!!

Thanks for visiting my video blog! I post a new video every Wednesday and sometimes an extra when I have time.

I really liked the idea of only using pieces of the background. I’ll have to check out all my bigger stamps to see what will work. I am so glad someone sent me to your youtube channel! I have started getting into Copic Markers and I really like your videos and learn so much from you.
I look forward to your videos each and every Wednesday. I have learned so much from you!
Thank you,
Allene
Darlene,
I so appreciate all your hard work and time in making these weekly video’s. I can’t wait for Wed.’s to roll around to see what new creation you have come up with. Your voice is so soothing that I often put your channel on play all to “read” me a bedtime story when I can’t sleep! LOL. Thanks so much!
Marette
I love, love, love your cards! Keep up the good work.
I love your cards. If I’m wandering around U-tube looking for random ideas, more times then not what I find that I like is yours. After watching your Owl line of card videos I am getting that punch to do a card a month for my daughter who is away at college. She loves owls.
Thanks for the chance Darlene!
I love the card. You always have such wonderful videos for your cards. Thanks for sharing you talent with us, and thanks for the opportunity to win the brush pens.
I really appreciate your time and your videos! Another great card! Thanks for a chance at your giveaway.
I only discovered your blog a month or two ago but have checked back every week for inspiration. Thanks for a chance to win!
Very pretty card, like what you did with the background stamp!
Very Pretty card. Excellent work.
I love your copic technique. The flowers are blended beautifully. I also love the subtle background with the vivid pop of color. GREAT CARD!!

Bee-u-ti-ful card! Love your blog, thanks for the chance to win!!
You are so creative and do such beautiful work. I look forward to seeing your post every week. I especially like how you show how to use the same stamps, etc in different ways.
Loved this card! Just getting started at card making; it’s a little overwhelming at first trying to decide where to start. Your videos are a great help! So informative and easy to follow. Thank you!
This is Beautiful….
Beautiful card! This is really the first time I’ve seen copic markers in action. So amazing.
Thanks for the great inspiration. I might have to see if I have any stamps I can use this technique with.
Thank you for a great video tutorial. Wonderful coloring. Love the splashes of colors against a grey background. I’ve learned that the details overlapping the large flowers are no problem. Thank you!
Love this card, I also really like your video technique. Thanks
I really like how you describe each step you take as you make cards. Makes it so much easier than most. Your voice is soothing and particularly suited to these types of crafting tutorials. Thanks so much for making some new techniques or materials more approachable!
Lovely card…Liked ur tutes…Thanks for chance to win
Love how you took those flowers from the background and popped them up after coloring with those gorgeous copics! It just is so complete, with just a little coloring and cutting. I am thinking of all the background stamps that I have that I might be able to do in this fashion. You just helped double the use, and made the “cost” of my stamps worth every penny!! Sure is great to be able to get more “bang” for my “buck”. Thanks for sharing that bit of info. I really love the finished card, it is just stunning. OMGosh, just by coloring three flowers and popping them up? Wow, what a great idea. Here goes another entry in my “Idea Book”….LOL I am on to the next video…and having a blast! You are so talented! Hope you get to read my comments, maybe getting some kudos will make you happy as I am watching all of these videos!! Fantastic work! Keep the videos a-comin”….LOL Wait, I think I need another cup of Joe! Be right back!!
Love this card. Will certainly try the ink you suggested. Thank you.
