I have been on a craft-buying binge. And I can’t stop. Someone help! Sound familiar? Seriously, I decided to branch out with some new product brands, so I purchased a few sets from There She Goes Stamps. Next, I went to Colorado Springs and found Archivers. Oh. My. Heaven. Literally. Then, we had the Great American Scrapbook Convention hit Dallas last weekend. I can’t pass up these opportunities, right? I know you agree! So I have one more round of shopping to do… the new Stampin’ Up! catalog. I already have the wishlist set and will place my order in the next week. Then I promise myself. I will use what I have… I will use what I have.
One more thing before I talk about the card this week. I know a lot of you purchase Stampin’ Up! products from me (my sister) because I donate the commission to Foster Kids Charity. If you’re wondering what I’m talking about, you can read this post. Anyway, I thought I would give you an update. Since I parted ways with SU and began donating the commission through my sister in November, 2011, I have donated
Okay, so this card is mostly just Copic coloring. I give step-by-step instructions with tips on how you can get a realistic look with flowers using Copic markers. I used one of my new There She Goes stamps. The quality of these clear stamps is really fantastic! They are very strong, sticky, and thick. I have a few more really cute sets from them that I will use over the next couple of months.
I used my Beautiful Wings Embosslit to die cut the butterflies – they are dry embossed, so they look very elegant against the clean flowers. In the original version of the card I used the butterfly that came with the set and colored it yellow. Too big, too distracting. I changed it out for black smaller butterflies in the morning and they look much better – I talk about it more in the video.
Anyhoo – hope you’re having a great week! Enjoy the video.
