Wednesday’s Card: Stampin’ Up! Marker Resist

Marker Resist
Marker Resist (zoom)

Hi All!

I saw a Christmas card in Paper Crafts magazine a few months ago that used twine to outline a panel and I loved how it completed the edge. I actually inked this card with markers – and it was so fast because I used the brush tip. So, it is super fast in the video!

I also used my Beautiful Wings Embosslit, which I haven’t used in awhile. I love all those little embossed butterflies – so elegant.

This card in real time took me about 17 minutes or so, which includes all my “where did I put that?” delays. I swear I can spend 3 minutes looking for something that is literally right in front of me on the desk!! I edit all those things out, lol! Of course, 17 minutes is the second version – the first version took longer because I experimented with white or black embossed flowers in the background, what colors to use, size of the panel, etc. I seriously contemplate every detail.

If you are a fan of my Facebook page, then you know that my Michael’s Craft Master episode went up last night!! You can check it out here.

Anyway, enjoy the card video and have a great week!

Firstly, another great card and again I’ve learned some great techniques so thanks for sharing them. I was thinking of doing an underwater scene card today using the coloring (horizontally of course!) and the water ‘flicking’ techniques – can’t wait.
Secondly, congratulations on your award – I’m in Australia so I have no idea what it’s all about, but I’m going to go and ‘google’ to find out – can’t wait to see what you created to win – but I’m not surprised you won – you are very talented! Thanks again.

I tried this and LOVED it…I used the Koh-I-Noor Woodless Colour Pencils, which have a really soft lead in them (You’ll be sorry if you drop them, as they break very easy!), and this technique worked awesome! It gives the image a really soft hue. I can’t say enough about it – I LOVED IT! TY so much for sharing!!! :)

  44. Some day I will try this…I actually forgot about this one!! Awesome card..do you know if they still sell that sizzlet bfly embossing die?!! That is verrry cool!!
