This card was so easy to make. If you follow my blog, you’ll notice that I don’t use much patterned paper. For two reasons…
1) I always feel like it is a distraction to my card elements. I can never figure out how to make it work without being a focal point. I see other people using it, and it looks great, but I have a hard time with it.
2) I feel like I am cheating.
I am the oldest sibling and a major overachiever. When I use patterned paper, it’s almost as if the card is not totally mine – you know, like someone else designed part of it. Does anyone else feel that way?? Or, am I crazier than a normal card-crazy person?
This card was made using all different papers from one paper pack by Stampin’ Up! called “Welcome Neighbor” – a really cute 6×6 pad that retired awhile back. It was just a bunch of very small subtle patterns. And I didn’t create the background – it was paper! I’m sure you could find something similar in your local craft store.
The stamp set was one that I picked out when I won the shopping spree for my card a couple of months ago at Hero Arts (see my card HERE)!! So cute. I love to send a card to someone after they host a party. It’s a lot of work to host a party and they deserve it!!
Oh, one more thing… the new catalog from Stampin’ Up! released last Friday!!! I am awaiting my first order, so hopefully I will be using some new goodies over the next few weeks!! You can view a pdf of the catalog HERE and shop online HERE.
Have a great week!
