Hi All!
For some reason, I am having a lot of trouble with my creativity. I have created so many cards recently that I just don’t think are good enough to post! I’m a perfectionist, so I want to make the perfect card every time. I know that’s not going to happen, so I guess this is a good learning experience for me. But I tell you, it is a stressful learning experience. I’m hoping this is just one of those temporary blocks that will release soon.
My kids are finally out of school and I am loving it. I am lucky to have really good kids – 2 very sweet girls, ages 10 and 6. And they always tell me that my card is beautiful, no matter what it looks like. 
Anyway, this week’s card uses Copic markers for coloring. I really slowed down this video and explained my coloring technique – hopefully it helps you.
The stamp set is Fifth Avenue Floral. Even though it has been in the Stampin’ Up! catalog for awhile, I just recently purchased it. I’ve used it on a couple of recent cards – the flowers are fantastic for coloring. And, it’s not retiring this year! Yeah!

What a pretty card. Great colic technique video. The white shading on tips really set off your flowers. Sometimes it is hard to get in the creative mood, your card was wonderful even without the mojo.

Another awesome card! I was wondering, which copic markers did you use? I love me copics, but I never seem to pick the right ones to get a great pink-ish combination..should have known you would know a good combo!

I love your card. I have recently found your blog and have been watching tons of your videos. You have inspired me to pull out my foam applicator and use those distress inks also!
I do have a question though…..where did you find your duck adhesive runner? That is my all time favorite adhesive and I haven’t been able to find it in a long time. All I can find now is the tab duck adhesive (which I really hate).

Whenever my creative juices are on a break, I find it helps to remind myself that every card does not have to be a masterpiece. That said I love your beautiful card. It gave me a real lift.
Your daughters sound just precious!! I know how you feel. I keep thinking about starting a blog, but I’m such a perfectionist that I’d probably never feel that enough of my cards were good enough to post! LOL!! guess I need to push myself and just do it. I enjoy your videos and watch each one even though I don’t always take time to leave a comment. Thanks for making the videos and sharing your techniques!!!

@DWest – ah yes, the Duck adhesive runner. I love, love, love it. When I saw that they changed it to the tabbed version, I bought out the store. Probably about 50 runners or so. That was a year ago maybe? I only have about 8 left!! Then, I’m going to have to find something else. The Stampin’ Up! runners work well too, so I’ll probably start using them. Why did they have to go and change something that was so great???
G’day Darlene….. I understand about creative blocks – I often have them but then you go and make a card you’re really pleased with and it’s even more satisfying at the end sitting there looking at what you have created, the mojo will ‘flowjo’ again I’m sure of it! Thanks for sharing.
This is such a beautiful card – I love every element! I have been using my SU markers in the same fashion as you use the Copics, and dependent upon how big an area you need to colour, and the quality of your cardstock, the results aren’t too bad. Thanks again for sharing your lovely work. Now I’m off to try and re-create it…Tx

I loved this card, of course I LOVE all your cards. I’ve had a horrible time with copic markers. My initial investment was 3 of them + blender. I just looked and matched up colors. When I’ve tried using them the results are horrendous. They are V09, V12, BV08. Any suggestions as to what corresponding numbers would work with these colors. THANKS

I love it! Can you use Stampin Up markers?
@Shannon: Good question! The answer is “sort of”. To get the same shaded look, you would probably want to use a blender pen and watercolor paper. If you go straight to the cardstock with markers, it will come out very dark and with little dimension.
You don’t have to use watercolor paper, but it would look nicer. Just take your marker, scribble onto something waterproof/plastic, such as a stampamajig sheet or a stamp set container, then use your blender pen to pick up the ink and apply it to the flower. You can see an example of me using a blender pen to create some perspective on a cake on THIS CARD.
