Hi All,
Well, I’ve had a heck of a week, so unfortunately, no video today. This will be the first time I don’t have a video on Wednesday since I started this blog in February! I’m actually really sad about it.
Anyway, I decided to post a few photos of my holiday card from 2 years ago. It’s one of my favorites. And, to be honest, not very repeatable but I managed to make 80 of them. I was cursing the holiday by the end!!
The final measurement of the card is about 6×51/2. I took a 12×12 sheet and cut it in half, then did a tri-fold with each piece.
The Christmas tree is from the Stampin’ Up! Snow Swirled stamp set. I stamped it in Versamark, then used “heat and stick” powder, which works like an embossing powder. It ends up becoming a very sticky substance when you heat it… perfect for adhering glitter. I used green glitter, then heated it back up to set it. This technique is awesome for really detailed images with glitter – it comes out great!!
I used the Stampin’ Up! slot punch to punch a hole under the tree and thread ribbon for the tree trunk. I added another piece of ribbon to the bottom fold so that I could tie it closed.
If you have questions about it, let me know! In the meantime, I’ll be working on a new card video for next week!
Darlene

Thanks for visiting my video blog! I post a new video every Wednesday and sometimes an extra when I have time.

How cute! What a neat idea to use a ribbon to tie it. Simplicity of design but elegant. Thanks for sharing it!
I still have this card from when you originally sent it out. It is so beautiful that I just had to keep it.
You do such amazing work!
Have a great holiday season.
Teresa – I can’t believe you kept it – that’s so nice to hear!
